By being part of AMiCUS, you are joining a community with more than 40 years of history in the Inter-European Division of the SDA Church.
AMiCUS is the name we give to student ministry, the Adventist Ministry of Campus University Students, although it may have a different name depending on the country you live in.
In our territory, student ministry was born in Spain, when AEGUAE (Asociación de Estudiantes y Graduados Adventistas de España) was founded in 1974. Italy followed one year later, in 1975, with the creation of AUDA. AMiCUS-Romania started in 1993, and it has become our strongest AMiCUS chapter, with more than 1000 members and 15 local student groups. AMiCUS also exists in Portugal (AUA) and the Czech Republic (INRIRoad).
Wherever you are, we want you to be part of this AMiCUS community, whether as a university student, a graduate, a mentor or a student of life.
Connect. Think. Encounter Jesus. Be. Act.

Be

We seek to aid students become the best human being they can be.
“For the believer wanting to know God’s will for her life, the first question to pose is not ‘What should I do?’ but ‘Who should I be?’” (Jen Wilkin)
Be a disciple of Jesus
Jesus was the best human being to ever exist; He is the role model to follow.
He gave us the key to organizing our priorities in life, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33 NIV).
When we seek God first and foremost, we become people who are full of the fruit of the Spirit: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22, 23 NLT).
So, be the best human you can be by regularly spending time with God in His word, in prayer and in nature.

Be a student of life
Students are by definition people who spend time learning more about a specific topic. While it may feel tempting as a student to only prepare to pass your exams, engage yourself in your studies in order to learn.
Learning is the most exciting when you approach it with curiosity and wonder. And these two qualities will give you the right motivation and attitude to approach life, even after your studies.
Be curious and live in wonder!
Be a healthy human being
Being is not just about surviving but about thriving. And we cannot thrive in an unhealthy body or mind.
Here are twelve areas to focus on healthwise, which you can remember using the acronym CELEBRATIONS (link):
- Make wise choices when it comes to your health.
- Take the time to exercise regularly.
- Keep yourself hydrated by drinking enough healthy liquids.
- Live in an environment that nurtures your health.
- Ground your life on sound belief that brings you love, hope and peace.
- Take the time to rest properly; you need to continually recharge to avoid burnout.
- Breathe in fresh air.
- Observe temperance, in other words, achieve balance in all areas of your life.
- Live your life with integrity.
- Face life with optimism.
- Fuel your life with the adequate nutrition.
- Surround yourself with commendable people who will give you social support.
